Gary Gerling
Founding Attorney and Of Counsel
Though most people who know him would say he’s certainly earned it, attorney Gary Gerling is not the retiring kind.
As founder of Gerling Law, Gary has been aggressively and effectively fighting for the rights of individuals who have suffered serious injury for nearly 50 years. And though he has passed the leadership of Gerling Law to his daughter, Gayle Gerling-Pettinga, Gary continues to provide advice and counsel to the firm on complicated issues related to Personal Injury law.
If you’ve been seriously injured in an accident, wouldn’t it be good to know that you can have a lawyer with Gary’s reputation and experience on your side? You can with Gerling Law.
Gary was recognized as an exceptional student at both the University of Evansville, where he was named Outstanding Student in the Business and Economics Department, and Indiana University Law School, where he was awarded a Krannert and an Edwards Fellowship for academic excellence. But what really set him apart from the other top students was his energy – Gary accomplished all this while supporting a wife and three children and serving in the Indiana National Guard.
Gary’s approach to handling personal injury cases has always been simple – it’s our job to carefully assemble the truthful FACTS about your case and then prepare the EVIDENCE needed to prove those facts. That’s why Gerling Law continues to invest our financial resources to hire the investigators and medical experts necessary to help you collect a fair and full settlement for your injuries. Not all Personal Injury attorneys have the resources to do this for their clients.
Throughout his legal career, Gary has handled all manner of Personal Injury cases, including serious brain injury, paralysis and wrongful death.
Professional Experience
Gary Gerling founded Gerling Law in 1963 in order to provide aggressive, quality legal representation to victims of personal injury. Today, he has passed on the leadership of his law firm in Evansville to his daughter, Gayle Gerling Pettinga, who leads a group of highly experienced personal injury attorneys with law offices in Evansville, Indianapolis, and Louisville.
