Giving Back

Gerling Law is an active participant in the life of the Evansville community, as well as the Indianapolis and Louisville communities we serve. We continue to support efforts to improve and enrich the lives of our neighbors. It’s the right thing to do.

Area Outreach Programs

Hang Up & Drive – Gerling Law and WIKY Sponsor Safe Driving Initiative – Attorney Gayle Gerling Pettinga urges drivers to stop texting while driving. Gerling Law in Evansville, Indiana, along with WIKY radio, asks everyone to be safe and pay attention while driving. In local community service spots on WIKY 104.1 FM, Gayle Gerling Pettinga urges everyone: Don’t call or text on your cell phone! Act responsibly and make the road a safer place for everyone.

Says Gerling, “It’s becoming a real danger because so many drivers, especially teenagers, are choosing to send text messages when they should be watching the road and the traffic around them. People are even dying because of cell phone use while driving. We want everyone to be safe and stop this avoidable cause of personal tragedy and serious injury.”

This effort is promoted on billboards to Evansville area drivers and WIKY radio listeners can submit their personal promise to stay off the phone and—an additional incentive—register to win a vacation:

“From April 19th, 2010, through July 25th, 2010, WIKY listeners will be urged to visit our website at wiky.com. On our homepage we will provide a link and story that visitors can click. Once clicking that link they will be taken to a landing page describing our “Hang Up & Drive” campaign. They will be able to submit their “promise” to stay off the phone while driving and register to win a drive-to vacation.”
