A good friend messaged me on Facebook to let me know how her daughter’s applications to law school were going. She said that many of her friends were saying she should try to talk her daughter out of going to law school and ended with the question, “Why would they say that?”

Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.

In support of local higher education and student interest in careers in law, Gerling Law began an endowment scholarship at University of Evansville in 2004. The scholarship is awarded to first year student(s) who is enrolled at UE majoring (or with a minor) in Political Science, Legal Studies, or Criminal Justice and who wants to pursue a career in law. Second preference is given to any first year enrolled student(s) who has stated a desire to pursue a career in law. Third preference would be to any upper division student(s) who has stated a desire to pursue a career in law.
