In re: Roundup Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2741)

October 4, 2016 — The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation transferred twenty-one cases from fourteen districts to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and assigned to Judge Vince Chhabria for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings. These cases alleged that Roundup, a widely used glyphosate-based herbicide manufactured by Monsanto Company, could cause non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and that Monsanto failed to warn consumers and regulators about the alleged risks of Roundup. Since the filing of the motion to transfer, the parties had notified the Panel of another sixteen related actions pending in twelve districts.
