We’re all the products of our experiences, and lessons we learn along the journey prepare us for roles and situations we may not have anticipated. Take paralegal Christina Weightman. When she was waiting tables, she probably didn’t notice the lessons she was learning about meeting our clients’ needs. While working on her Associates Degree in applied science and medical assisting at Ivy Tech, how could she have anticipated that an externship with local doctors would help her handle personal injury claims?
Those and many other experiences gave the Evansville native (and Benjamin Bosse High School graduate) broad knowledge, healthy curiosity and a perspective that always looks beyond the obvious. Having handled the dinner rush in restaurants with attentive service and a friendly smile prepared her to confidently tackle the most stressful legal situations. Her time in doctors’ offices gave her a thorough understanding of terminology and normal procedures, so she can support our social security disability attorney through every step of the cases they handle. Before joining Gerling Law, she sharpened her legal skills with six years at another local personal injurylaw firm.
When Christina isn’t working, she loves to travel with her husband, two sons, and teenage stepson, whether to new places or to the Children’s Museum. The avid boater and her husband exchanged vows at sunset on the Ohio River, and they enjoy traveling up – and downstream in their Marinette boat. Plus, she continues to add to her skills by working on a Class A CDL that will let her help her husband run the family’s logistics business, and someday travel the highways together as team drivers.
