Cindy’s journey to the Tri-State began in Puerto Rico and took her through Chicago and central Illinois before bringing her to the Gerling team. She was born in Ponce, on Puerto Rico’s sun-splashed southern coast, and moved to the Windy (and chillier) City as a young child.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Pre-Law and membership in the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, then moved to Evansville after graduation. Cindy worked briefly as a case manager for the Department of Child Services and with a local early intervention program, but her love for the law kept drawing her back. She added an associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Ivy Tech Community College-Southwest, graduating with Latin honors and membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and worked as a paralegal for several law firms. Cindy takes pride in getting to know clients, responding quickly to their needs, and treating them with respect. As a native Spanish speaker, she helps our team communicate with clients who might otherwise be intimidated by the legal process.
The mother of four is a member of Evansville’s Ultimate Fit running team, a tireless advocate for domestic violence awareness and the needs of survivors, and a skilled seamstress. Cindy was one of the founders of the Evansville Puerto Rican Cultural Group and is an active member of the Junior League of Evansville.
